慈悲三昧水忏的由来 Origin of Samadhi Water Repentence 在唐朝懿宗皇帝时期,有一位大师,法号叫做悟达,这位悟达法师在早年还是小和尚的时候,在一间寺庙裡与一位老和尚同住,这位老和尚名叫迦诺迦尊者,有一次这位尊者身染恶疾,因此身上很不乾淨,大家都很害怕这种恶疾,所带来与造成的不适,所以没有人愿意照应他,唯有小和尚记得佛陀曾经教诲过,百福田中,侍病第一的教诲,因此日夜细心的照顾尊者,亲奉汤药,加以服侍。于是尊者在小和尚的照顾之下身体痊癒,就很感谢小和尚的侍病恩情,于是在两人缘止要分别前,就告诉小和尚说:「你以后在宣法度众时,如果遇到困难痛苦之事,需要我的帮忙,那麽就到西蜀彭州九陇山来找我。」 小和尚回答说:「九陇山又高广,又深大,我到哪裡去找呢?」 尊者就说:「我住的地方门前有两棵松树,你可以依这个标景寻找。」 后来悟达法师就落脚在安国寺,开始弘法利益众生,因为法师的德高望重,所以就闻名显着,召感了懿宗皇帝亲临法宴,闻师教诲,而懿宗皇帝在听完法师的说法开示之后,就赐赠了沉香精凋的法座给法师,以示隆重尊崇,并拜为国师。当悟达国师陞座,并接受当今与文武官臣的礼拜时,因为光荣无比,一念喜心,贡高生起,霎时就召引了累世冤亲债主,临身报复,于是就在国师的膝盖上,马上长出了一个人面疮来,这个疮上,竟然有着如人面的眉毛、眼睛与牙齿,并且每天都要用食物喂食它,而有时人面疮将牙齿咬紧作声,就会带给国师很大的疼痛,苦不堪言!经过到处遍访名医诊治,但是都没有效果,群医束手,这个因为宿业召感的恶疾,当真是让国师吃足了苦头。 后来在有一次,国师又遭受痛苦之时,突然间忆及迦诺迦尊者,临别时的交代,于是国师就赶快整装,出发到西蜀寻找尊者,看尊者能不能帮他治病。而在国师经过日夜赶路,到达九陇山时,正是向晚时刻,红霞满天,景色迷人,但国师无心于此,急急眺望四周,四下寻觅,忽然间,国师遥望远处,正好看见两株挺立的松树,心中一想,尊者不欺,胜境如言,那麽我身恶疾救治有望。于是国师就急忙踏进双松中径,就见到高处山间,琼楼玉宇,崇楼高阁,金碧辉煌,如入仙境,国师因此加快脚步,走了一会后,很快的就到达山门前,这时只见两位童子,侧立门前,门中则站了一位年老高僧,国师仔细一看,正是迦诺迦尊者,心想:「尊者已知我的来到,故在门首相迎。」...

“斋天”是“供佛斋天”的简称,中国南方民间俗称“拜天公”。它是佛教特别是汉化佛教的一种法事。佛是三宝之一,佛和菩萨都是出家人,佛和等觉位的大菩萨--一如在中国有道场的四大菩萨-一-都是七众阪依膜拜的对象。 斋天又名供天,是寺院中每年岁朝佛事,也有斋主以供天祈福。斋天是隋代天台宗智者大师依《金光明经》制定《金光明忏法》时开始的。 忏法中依经奉请大梵尊天、帝释尊天、护世四王、金刚密迹、散脂大将、大辩才天、大功德天、鬼子母天等十一天众。南宋时,神焕撰《诸天列传》,行霆又撰《诸天传》,设诸天供有十二天、十六天、二十天、二十四天、三十三天不等。元文宗时;天台宗的慧光法师于每岁元旦率众修金光明忏,斋天便广泛兴起了。现在的斋天仪轨,主要是依照明末弘赞律师所撰《斋天科仪》施行的。 佛教徒虽不归依诸天,但礼敬诸天,这是因为诸天归依佛,并奉行正法,护持正教,并且修诸善业,不做恶行。据金光明经载,诸天于金光明会上,一一于佛前发菩提心,并亲承如来法勒,常祐护受持、读诵、书写金光明经者。因诸天秉持法王嘱累,巡行人间,以慈心辅翼有德,奖善罚恶,世人遂营建此供佛斋天之法会,诵经礼忏,施设净食,以供养十方三宝、护世诸天及其随从。供佛是要供养三宝、皈依三宝,否则诸天是不敢,也不愿应供的。而斋天所请的客人是:大功德尊天、大辩才尊天、大梵王尊天、大帝释尊天、东方持国尊天、南方增长尊天、西方广目尊天、北方多闻尊天、大摩尼支尊天、摩醯首罗尊天、金刚密迹尊天、散脂大将尊天、大德韦陀尊天、菩提树王尊天、坚牢地神尊天、诃利帝喃尊天、日宫太阳尊天、月宫太阴尊天、鬼子圣母尊天、娑竭罗王尊天、星宫月府尊天、閰摩罗王尊天、紧那罗王尊天、雷神大将尊天。除了前述二十四天外,尚有寄位诸天、金刚力士、八部天龙等诸天的使者,叫侍从天。 斋天多在下半夜的寅时举行(也有的寺院在辰时举行),地点一般在寺院大殿或法堂前的空坝里;头天下午即开始搭坛;斋天共设三坛:第一坛为主坛,坛桌正中供铜佛像,并置香、花、灯、水、果、茶、食、宝、珠、衣“十供养”。上方设“二十四诸天”牌位或挂“二十四诸天”画像;坛下设七个蒲团,正中为掌坛师用,其余为敲打法器的僧众用。第二坛为迎请诸天而设,坛上放着迎请诸天的《疏文》。另有纸扎的金马、碧鸡,据说它们善跑能飞,带着《疏文》以最快的速度与诸天传递信息。第三坛为斋请诸天而设,...

各位善光精舍的读者朋友们,大家好! 一年一度的九皇胜会又要到了,许多人都往庙里去礼拜九皇大帝,关于九皇之传说亦有许多不同的版本,暂且搁置这个议题,而探讨与认识,今年来许有多人在拜的斗母以及这段节庆所到的“斗母宫”,到底斗母是谁?她的来源如何?是属于佛教的神祁还是道教的神明?是佛教吸收道教的神,还是道教吸收了佛教的神祁?那么如果说是佛教的,是否有佛经依据还是凭空捏造,混淆视听?众说纷纭 。。。就请诸位放下心,一同来了解“斗母”摩利支天的原流。 摩利支天(Maricideva),意为“光”、“阳焰”。摩利支天 具有隐形的神通,能救人于厄难。在佛寺的造像为一天女形像,手执莲花,头顶宝塔,坐在金色的猪身上,周围环绕着一群猪。 摩利支天的形相 有二臂像、六臂像以及八臂像等多种。坐骑七猛猪。据《摩利支天经》中记,欲奉摩利支天者,应以金、银、铜或檀木等材料塑造。其相为天女形,长一寸、二寸或一肘均可。左手屈臂向上,持天扇,扇形如维摩诘说法时天女所持之扇。扇中画卍字。右手下垂,举掌向外,像两边各作一随侍天女。 另有一种三面八臂乘猪的摩利支天像,身金黄色,八臂三面九眼,顶戴宝塔,塔中有毗卢舍那佛,摩利支天身披红色天衣,有宝带、璎珞、耳珰、腕钏等种种饰物。左侧四手分别执□索、弓、无忧树枝、线,右四手分别执有金刚杵、针、钩、箭。正面善相,显微笑状,唇如朱色。左面作猪相,忿怒丑恶,口出利牙,信人见而生畏。右面深红色,立于猪身上。还有一种作童女形的摩利支天像。 据佛教说摩利支天是隐身和消灾的保护神。此天威力极大,上管三十六天罡星,下管七十二地煞星,二十八宿皆为此天所管。 周天一十二宫,分二十八宿,日行一日一度,一年一周天。月行一日十三度,一月一周天。星度阔狭不一,每月行度各有不同,主人间祸福之事。 梵文Marici,又曰摩梨支,摩利支天,摩利支菩萨,摩利支提婆。译曰阳焰。以其形相不可见不可取,故名。又曰华鬘。以天女之形相名之,常在日前行,有自在通力之天神也,若念之,则离一切之灾厄,特为武土之守护神,密家所传。此天之印咒,以隐形法为其至极。本行集经三十一曰:“摩梨支,隋云阳焰。”不空译摩利支天之摩利支天经曰:“有天名摩利支,有大神通自在之法。常行日前,日不见彼,彼能见日。无人能见,无人能知,无人能害,无人欺诳,无人能缚,无人能债其财物,无人能...

Cundi Bodhisattva 準提菩薩 may be the most common icon for Singaporeans as the walk pass or pray at the famous Waterloo Guan Yin Temple 四馬路觀音堂 but yet many do not really understand about this great bodhisattva. In this article, we attempt to introduce our readers the origin various aspects of Cundi Bodhisattva. Cundi Bodhisattva 準提菩薩 is supposed to be a Buddhist being of great spiritual status. She is said to have been the manifestation of the World Honored One entering into the Samadhi of Spiritual Power of Transformation of Space and Ocean. Cundi is also known as the Cundi Guan Yin 準提觀音. The word "Cundi" means Supreme Purity. Being the mother of all the deities of the Lotus class, she is therefore known as the Buddha Mother 佛母, the Mother of Seven Kotis (七俱胝) of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Acala Vidyaraja (不動明王) is the central deity in all Vidyaraja (明王) groupings, and in artwork is positioned in the center. Acala Vidyaraja is a personification of Maha Vairocana Buddha (大毗廬遮那佛) , and the best known of the Vidyaraja, who are venerated especially by the Shingon sect (真言宗) of Esoteric Buddhism (密教). Acala Vidyaraja is able to convert anger into salvation; has furious, glaring face, as he seeks to frighten people into accepting the teachings of the Lord Buddha (佛陀) ; carries “kurikara” (倶利迦羅劍) or devil-subduing sword in right hand (representing wisdom cutting through ignorance 智慧劍斬無明愚痴); holds vajra rope (金剛索) in left hand (to catch and bind up demons); often has third eye in forehead (all-seeing 能見一切); often seated or standing on rock (because Acala Vidyaraja is “immovable” in his faith).
